Member Designated Infrastructure Projects

The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure will consider funding requests for infrastructure-related projects in the 2021 Surface Transportation Authorization Legislation. State Departments of Transportation (DOT), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO), transit agencies, or local governments sponsoring eligible projects (see below) may submit these requests.


If granted, these requests would allow specific projects to secure dedicated funding. Our office is only accepting applications from projects that appear on a State Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) or local Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) from a state or metropolitan planning agency. The agency plans relevant to communities in the 8th District are prepared by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) and the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC)

 

Please use this form to submit requests for Member Designated Projects through the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

 

Requests must be submitted using the form in order to be considered. For additional information about eligibility and available funding, this background has been prepared by the Committee.

Member Designated Project requests must be submitted by April 12, 2021. Submissions after this deadline will be accepted, but considered late.  

Please note that the Committee is encouraging “projects that will help advance the goals of the surface transportation authorization legislation, which include building a safer transportation network, increasing access, strengthening our multi-modal transportation systems, reducing carbon pollution, enhancing environmental justice, supporting underserved communities, and improving state of good repair of our Nation’s infrastructure.”
