Slotkin donates $10,965, following pledge to not take pay during longest federal shutdown in U.S. history
LANSING, MI –– U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-08) donated her congressional salary from the federal government shutdown to the Alzheimer’s Association at the grand opening of her district headquarters in Lansing on Saturday. Slotkin donated $10,965, and presented the check to Lauren Kovach, a lifelong Brighton resident and advocate with the Alzheimer’s Association in Michigan.

Bill would not restrict U.S. counter-terrorism mission focused on al-Qaeda and its affiliates

Res 37, which directs the President to remove U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities in or affecting Yemen that have not been authorized by Congress, except those engaged in operation directed at al-Qaeda or its associated forces.
Today, on the floor of the House of Representatives, Rep. Elissa Slotkin was officially sworn in to represent Michigan’s 8th District in Congress.
The 116th freshman class stands ready for the new Congress.
The freshman class will be sworn in on January 3rd, 2019 when the First Session of the 116th United States Congress convenes.
