LANSING, MI –– U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-08) donated her congressional salary from the federal government shutdown to the Alzheimer’s Association at the grand opening of her district headquarters in Lansing on Saturday. Slotkin donated $10,965, and presented the check to Lauren Kovach, a lifelong Brighton resident and advocate with the Alzheimer’s Association in Michigan.

The legislation imposes penalties on pharmaceutical companies who harm consumers with sudden, exorbitant price increases and promotes competition among manufacturers to lower drug prices.
