Office of Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin Internships
The Office of Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin currently has an active internship program in both the Washington, DC and Michigan offices for college students, recent college graduates, and Active Duty Service members approved to participate within the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge internship program. Congressional interns are eligible for either a monthly stipend or school credit for the duration of their internship. DoD Skillbridge interns will continue to receive their full military pay and allowances for the duration of the internship. The dates of the 2021 internships are found below.
Spring Internship: January 3, 2021 - May 14, 2021
Summer: May 17, 2021 - August 20, 2021
Fall: August 23, 2021 - December 17, 2021
Congressional interns in the Washington DC office will take on a wide range of responsibilities, including answering phone calls and messages from constituents, assisting with the constituent mail program, researching legislation to support the Congresswoman’s legislative staff, attending virtual hearings and briefings and answering constituent outreach on various issues before the House.
Congressional interns in the Michigan office will take on a wide range of responsibilities, including answering phone calls and messages from constituents, assisting with ongoing casework, drafting letters to constituents, supporting outreach efforts across all three counties of the Congressional district, and additional special projects.
